Team Lead - Manage 12 full time Java developers, and 9 contract developers. Perform hiring,  performance evaluations, recognition, rewards, annual salary budgeting, and  training plans. Host developer and Architectural Board meetings. Create fun activies for team building.

Developed Java Web application to view recorded Air Force C5 Aircraft Health Reporting data. JAVA Servlet, JSP, Application. Developed Windows C++ modules for inflight recording of aircraft health statistics.

Designed and developed a Web-based Scheduling Package marketed to the hospital industry. This intranet based package features Browser based HTML clients and a servlet based Java application running on a J2EE server using MS SQL Server databases. System included 100+ HTML pages. Designed and prototyped the Operating Room Nursing Notes Web application.

Anthem Blue Cross

Anthem Blue Cross, Team Lead / Developer, 1984-1996, Cincinnati, Ohio

Led a small team of VB programmers to spread Automated Transaction Management (ATM) technology throughout Anthem’s health insurance claims processing systems. Architected and programmed the ATM Claims Processing System written in Visual Basic and used MS SQL Server and IBM mainframe host. Performed vendor selection, contract negotiation and system development for a multi-million dollar claims entry outsourcing project.

In retrospect this was my first experience with a truly agile team, only we didn’t know what to call it at the time.
